May 16, 2018 – Yesterday, was the deadliest day in Gaza since 2014. According to the Ministry of Health, 58 Palestinians were killed, including six children and one health worker, and 2,771 injured after the use of live ammunition, rubber bullets and tear gas targeting demonstrators. Many health facilities in Gaza are facing a serious shortage of drugs and medical supplies as well as an overwhelming influx of injured patients. Cumulatively, these dynamics have already harmed Gaza’s health system and continue to threaten the well-being of its patients. Health services in Gaza are already extremely limited due to chronic shortages of medicines, medical disposables, and inadequate supplies of electricity and fuel for emergency generators in hospitals. In response to increasing health needs, Mercy Without Limits has quickly responded to help local teams treat the injured through the provision of essential medical supplies. In partnership with World Health Organization, Mercy Without Limits sent a medical container equipped with medical supplies and medicine to meet emergency medical needs.

Specifically, for those people living in poverty or conflict zones, winter brings cold that kills. Every year Mercy Without Limits works quickly in communities we serve to ensure the cold does not kill any children, elderly, or families who simply don’t have the resources to stay warm. For every $30 you spend buying a gift for a family or friend, spend $30 to ensure one family has enough jackets for their kids.
With your generosity and support, last year we shared 750 blankets and 308 jackets to vulnerable families in Jordan. Likewise, inside Syria, Turkey, and Iraq Mercy Without Limits made sure people in communities we serve stayed warm winter 2017.

With the sound of school bells ringing and pounding feet on fresh pavement, children and youth all around the United States are ready to begin the new school year. With backpacks full of school supplies, new clothes to wear, and family & friends supporting their journey, students are ready to reach their full academic potential.
Thousands of miles away, in small villages around Syria, Ghana, Jordan, and Sierra Leone children eagerly wish and ask their caregivers if they can attend the local make-shift schools. For little girls like Mariam, going to school is an expensive dream. Going to school with a backpack, school supplies, and new clothes to wear, is a dream almost impossible to reach.
While her caregivers would love to send her to the local school and send her with supplies to help her learn, but life is difficult for poor refugee families who struggle to make ends meet. With our orphan sponsorship program, Mercy Without Limits sponsors eagerly support young dreamers by helping fund the costs of their education and the supplies they need to have a great school year.

Mercy Without Limits is excited to announce news of our new orphanage in Sierra Leone! We are beyond thrilled to start this new journey and sincerely thank our loyal supporters, donors, staff, volunteers, and orphans for believing in us. With your support we were able to purchase land for the orphanage, buy building supplies, and hire builders. The new orphanage is in the development phase, meaning builders are busy at work building the orphanage brick by brick.
Orphanage Blueprint
The orphanage will be home for 98 orphans – 46 girls and 46 boys. The home will consist of two form rooms, two washing facilities, and one big dining room & kitchen for kids to eat their daily, home-cooked communal meals. In addition to the home, we will be building a primary school, secondary school, health clinic, women’s vocational center, and two water wells.
Our vision is this home becomes a source of hope not just for the orphans but for the community at large. We empower a community to grow by educating their little ones, vaccinating and treating their sick ones, securing jobs for their women, and providing safe water for all in the community – that is sustainable change.

More than 70,000 homes in Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi province were destroyed or damaged by the magnitude 7.5 quake that struck on September 28, 2018; triggering a tsunami and landslides that caused widespread destruction.
According to the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management, at least 1,948 people were killed and more than 2,500 people were injured and almost 75,000 displaced.
Rescue efforts have halted as officials say there is little hope of finding survivors under the rubble, but searches for remains continue. Hundreds of bodies are thought to be buried beneath the ruins of the two towns.

On September 13 & 14 Mercy Without Limits (MWL) was proud to attend the national Advocacy Day for Syria. The 2-day event was organized by the American Relief Coalition for Syria (ARCS), a coalition of non-political, humanitarian organizations who provide multi-sector relief and services to Syrians inside and outside of Syria. The 2-day event was kicked off with an advocacy day training and discussion. Advocates split up to meet with their state political representatives. Following advocacy day activities, members concluded the day with a thoughtful and optimistic de-brief. On Friday, the second day of the 2-day event, attendees attended a series of workshops as part of the Educating Syria’s Future: Challenges and Opportunities panel event. Notable topics of interest were formal & informal elementary education, accreditation, and access to higher education.
Mercy Without Limits Director of Communications, Reem Sharaf, gave a presentation on MWL’s work with Aleppo University. Ms. Sharaf presented on the need for accessible higher education and the impact higher education has on the short-term and long-term stability and sustainability of Syria.
Ride for Orphans (RFO) launches its second phase in San Diego, California. Starting in October 2018, Motorcyclist Imam, Ahmed Elkhaldy, will be continuing his tour throughout the nation — by motorcycle.
RFO is a motorcycle tour that started in 2016 to raise funds and support orphan projects for Mercy Without Limits orphans in Syria, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq.
Last month, Imam Ahmed rode 3,000 miles from Atlanta to Los Angeles. He visited and interacted with several Southern Californian communities including those in Orange County and San Diego. He was also able to collaborate with motorcycle enthusiasts that have a passion for racing and the drive to create an avenue thru this passion in order to help others.
Within 4 days, 75 orphans were sponsored. All proceeds directly go to Mercy Without Limits orphaned children.

Mercy Without Limits Team is humbled by the support and love from our local communities for our campaign, Give Mercy: Share a Meal. The campaign to raise awareness about food insecurity has been well received. With a food-drive running throughout the month of November in Kansas, Maryland, and Michigan, many people have come out to donate non-perishable food items which will be donated to local women’s shelters. In each of the states there was a campaign launch event on the following dates: Kansas Friday 11/2/18Maryland Saturday 11/3/18 Michigan Sunday 11/4/18 Attendees enjoyed donuts & apple cider, decorating collection boxes, and competing to see who could design the most creative box. At the end of the food drive campaign, the winning state with the most collected food items will be announced. Join us in cheering on each state and if you’re in the area, make sure to drop off some non-perishable food items before the end of the campaign.
During the month of November, Mercy Without Limits held a social media competition allowing bystanders to vote for best box design. With over 40 likes our winning team is from Kansas City.
